Rappstar’s 4th Annual World Bicycle Relief Charity Challenge: Part Three
The generosity keeps rolling in – big thanks to those who have already donated this year! So far, we’ve raised $15,806. We’re doing great, but still have a ways to go to reach our goal of $50,250 (375 WBR bikes). Let’s push through it!
Remember, you can donate ANY amount, but ONLY donations of $134 or more (the cost of one bicycle) will make you eligible for prizes. For every multiple of $134 that you donate, you get another entry. $268 earns you double eligibility, $402 earns triple, $536 quadruple, etc.
You can enter online at our donation page:
http://ironmanfoundation.org/rappstarcharitychallenge
Or via snail-mail at the following address:
World Bicycle Relief
Attn: Development
1333 N. Kingsbury Street
4th Floor
Chicago, IL 60642
The challenge awards will be done electronically, on a roll-down system. So, the first person will get first pick of awards, second place gets second choice, etc. Award drawing tickets will be assigned automatically from the donations, so please make sure to give us an email or phone number (or both) where we can reach you.
As we start week three of the Challenge, that also means that we have a new list of prizes. This will conclude our roll-out of new goodies, so consider this cherry on top of an already stellar grab-bag of triathlon treats.
Ironman Foundation was kind enough to put together a COMPLETE list of all the prizes, hosted HERE.
And – if I may make a personal appeal – I would sincerely appreciate any Tweeting, Facebooking, blogging, or any other social media promotion that you can do on behalf of our Charity Challenge. A little bit goes a long way towards getting the message out to support this fantastic cause.
Thanks!
Jordan “Rappstar” Rapp

Eric Wynn: Half-day professional photo shoot with Eric. (MSRP $1000 PLUS a once-in-a-lifetime experience)
One of the official photographers and videographers for many of the best known companies in the triathlon world, Eric Wynn will donate a half-day personal photo shoot. Want to showcase that new bike and team tri kit? Have a new M-dot tattoo that you want to capture in timeless photography? Or maybe you just want some nice photos to send to your loved ones – it’s all good.
Photo shoot will be arranged between the winner and Eric for a mutually agreed upon time/location.
Michellie Jones: Giddy Up Multisports Coaching Package. (MSRP $1200 PLUS a once-in-a-lifetime experience)
Let’s face it – Michellie Jones is one of the best female triathletes… ever. She has an Ironman World Championship, Olympic Silver, two ITU World titles, and has a host of other victories to her name. “MJ” now does coaching in addition to her athletic pursuits, and this is your chance to learn from the legend. In her own words:
“It doesn’t matter who you are or what type of triathlon racing you do, Michellie Jones can provide you the necessary knowledge and direction to help you “Live Your Dreams”.
The purpose of coaching is not only to provide the building blocks to make you a better athlete, but also to create an environment in which you have all the tools necessary to succeed. It is all about supporting you in a friendly, enjoyable atmosphere – even for those “character building” workouts while fulfilling your dreams. There are plenty of choices but none with Michellie’s Race record and experience. Are you ready for MJ to Coach you for the performance you have been dreaming about?
The Coaching package includes a month-to-month detailed program for 3 months tailored around your specific race goals.
Quarq: SRAM Red Quarq power meter. (MSRP – $1,995)
The SRAM RED Quarq Power Meter features Power Balance™ and OmniCal™ and comes equipped with SRAM’s X-GlideR chainrings. Integrated electronics minimize interconnections and reduce exposure to the elements, bringing unmatched durability and reliability. Installation and operation is a breeze with the LED that signals power on and set zero, clearly visible ANT+™ ID and tool-less, user-replaceable CR2032 battery.
Winner has the option to swap for the S975 crankarm set (if they have a non-SRAM drivetrain). Either way, you get to pick from standard GXP or BB30, along with standard 53/39 or compact 50/34, and the arm length (170, 172.5, 175, 177.5mm options).
Simon Whitfield: Custom signed race uniform PLUS assorted Olympic gear. (MSRP – Priceless)
Four-time Olympian, gold and silver medalist, and my good friend, Simon Whitfield, was generous enough to donate another signed race uniform this year. As a bonus, he also said he’d throw in some assorted Olympic gear – truly a unique donation and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the winner. Thanks, Simon!
Chris “Macca” McCormack: Signed Under Armour race uniform PLUS custom sunglasses. (MSRP – Priceless)
Two-time Ironman World Champion, Chris “Macca” McCormack came through yet again with a great donation – a signed Macca Under Armour race uniform plus a pair of custom-made Under Armour sunglasses. Even if you can’t race as fast as him, you can wear his kit and own a piece of history from one of our sport’s great champions.
Jordan Rapp: Signed race uniform – worn (but washed after) at IMTX, IMNYC, and Leadman. (MSRP – arguably priceless)
This is my personal full-custom Zoot racing suit that I wore at Ironman Texas, Ironman New York, and the Leadman 250 Epic. I’ll sign it “To” whomever wins the auction – or to anyone, really (i.e. if the winner wants to give it to someone else as a gift). I hope this holds value to *someone* out there. It served me well, but is ready to find a new home.
Enchantments, Inc: Three (separate prizes) custom carved spell candles. (MSRP $40/ea, $120 total donation)
This donation is very near and dear to me – as it comes from my sister, Stacy Rapp. She works at Enchantments, Inc in New York City. Their donation is a trio of custom carved spell candles of the winners' choice.
What does it do? It’s more what you do with it. According to Stacy:
“The basic idea behind them is to help people focus their energy in a positive way towards a specific goal: e.g. – attracting love, money, finding a new job, etc.
First you pick the type of candle that you desire – let us know what you are trying to accomplish or manifest in your life and we can help you figure it out. Let us know your name (first is sufficient) and your sun sign. It is a 7-Day burning pillar candle that pulls out of a glass jar. We carve the candle with the appropriate magical seals and veves to help you focus on your goals. We also carve your name on the candle. Then your candle is anointed with the right oil blend. The candle is glittered and placed back in the glass with a magnetic iron filings (to help draw energy from the universe) and incense.
We then send the candle to YOU. You must light it – work with it – focus your energy into it to make what you want manifest. As with other things we must sell these as "Curios only." But the true magic lies within you!"
Even if you've never tried this before, I have a feeling that three lucky winners will love these candles. Bewitched? You decide… but this is an AWESOME prize.
Competitive Image / Paul Phillips: 10×15” print of USAT Olympic issue magazine cover – signed by the US triathlon Olympic team. (MSRP – Priceless)
Award-winning photographer Paul Phillips offered up a fantastic donation this year – a 10×15” print of the USAT Olympic issue magazine cover… which has been signed by all five American 2012 Olympic participants. With a company mission statement of “Capturing the Indomitable Spirit of Sport”, I think this prize clearly fits the bill. Thanks, Paul!
