What We Have Noticed: Timex, Soma…
This week we noticed a Timex Originals watch, the Soma water filter, an Eleven Gear jersey, a Monster headphone, a Threadless t-shirt and a delicious chocolate delight from Lindt.
Timex Originals Sports Chronograph
What: We often look back in awe at the original folks who participated in the very first Ironman event in Hawaii in 1978 and Timex has been supporting the event since 1984. Their experience with watches though goes back a staggering 158 years and they still take a licking and keep on ticking. The Originals Sports Chronograph is quite sharp looking and you won’t look like a runner or tri geek when you wear this Timex time piece with a suit or any other more dressy outfit. Plus even in jeans and a t-shirt it is good to have a smart looking watch on your wrist..
MSRP: $110

Soma
What: With bottled water you are never quite sure what you are actually drinking, plus it certainly isn’t the most environmentally conscious approach. Water filters give you a better feeling in terms of what you are consuming but they are not very attractive plus you need to deal with the carbon filters somehow. The Soma glass carafe on the other hand is stunningly attractive and features a filter that is crafted in the USA from coconut shells, vegan silks and food based PLA plastics and is thus 100% compostable. The project is currently on Kickstarter and it is already funded, but you can be still one of the early supports and be a leader versus a sheep.
Size: 40oz
Available: Summer 2013
MSRP: $50 for a carafe and 6 months of filters

Eleven Gear Coral Snake jersey
What: The unique color patterns of a coral snake keep animals and humans away and that is the idea behind the cycling jersey from Eleven Gear. When you are cruising through traffic you want to be noticed by other road users, not so much for being stylish and cool, but for safety reasons. And this Eleven Gear Coral Snake jersey will certainly do that trick.
Sizes: XS-3X men / S-XL women
MSRP: $109

Monster DNA On Ear headphone
What: Monster Cable actually manufactures the Beats by Dr Dre headphones and so it comes to no surprise that they would make very fine headphones under their own brand. The DNA On Ear model offers Pure Monster Sound, comfortable noise isolating cushions and with a dual port offers connectivity with a friend so you can share music or movies. The brand has also expressed interest in the sport of triathlon and we may soon see some Pros with these headphones in transition or on a plane.
Colors: Various and custom
Money: $229 custom ($199 regular)

Threadless Vitamin t-shirt
What: This Threadless Vitamin t-shirt design is very cool and it is also available as a print and an iPhone case, but for the purposes here we focus on the t-shirt. I have said many times already that you can’t have too many t-shirts unless they are race finisher ones, but this design by Florent Bordard is clearly a winner even if you don’t ride a bike at all. I ordered my Vitamin already.
Sizes: S-XXL men / S-XXL women
MSRP: $11.95

Lindt Peppermint truffles
What: The holidays are a time when many folks enjoy some chocolate and as a hard working athlete you can indulge along those lines at other times of the year unless of course you are a Pro of course. The Lindt Peppermint truffles though are only around for a limited time, so you better get on it before they are gone. Because they are ultra delicious for sure. Ho Ho Ho.
MSRP: $4.99 (12 pack)
