2008 Slowtwitch Industry Awards
Historically, we haven't had a structured way for our sport's adherents to express their opinions about the products and companies they admire most — except when they "vote" at the cash register. We've wanted to remedy that for some time and, as of today, and thanks to the hard work of Jorda Rapp aka rappstar, it's remedied.
Just follow the link to the Slowtwitch Bike Industry Awards and you'll find the poll. But unlike our polls that we run on slowtwitch 24/7/365, you have to be a registered forum user to cast a vote in these awards.
The editorial staff has selected the categories and finalists. But you, our readers, are empowered to choose the winners. We know, that you might also want to rewind the process and choose the categories and finalists too. This is not possible though, because your opinions are so varied, the ballot would've been unreasonably long.
We also know that this will not deter you — several or many of you will continue to propose both categories and finalists we should have chosen. We don't mind your highlighting the travesties evidenced in our selections. Indeed, we encourage such posts in the forum. There is always grousing about what movies aren't Oscar-nominated and, in the spirit of this forum, you can express any tri-related opinions on any topic (within the bounds of reasonably good taste).
This is the first of three rounds of Slowtwitch awards we'll be giving out this year.
