Billington, Donner win NO 5i50

Gregory Billington of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Kaitlin Donner of Melbourne, Florida won the men’s and women’s overall titles at New Orleans 5i50.

Billington combined a race-best 18:18 swim, 4th-fastest 54:58 bike split and 2nd-best 32:31 run to finish in 1:47:32 with a 2:16 margin of victory over runner-up Jordan Jones and 2:43 over 3rd-place finisher Tom Davison of New Zealand.

Donner’s 3rd-best 19:46 swim, 7th-fastest 1:04:00 bike split and 3rd quickest 38:27 run brought her to the finish line in 2:04:07 with a 30 seconds margin of victory over runner-up Andrea Steyn of the Republic of South Africa and 276 seconds ahead of 3rd-place finisher Annie Warner of Nine Mile Falls, Washington.
