2014 REV3 Rush Virginia

Last weekends folks competed at the draft legal REV3 Rush super sprint race and we have images from this inaugural event on the Richmond International Raceway.

Athletes swam 250 meter in a 25 meter pool, biked 5 miles on the raceway and then ran 1.25 miles in a variety of preliminary heats in hopes to qualify for the Grand Finale. Full results of the Rush event can be found right here, but meanwhile enjoy the gallery below.

Speedy transitions are key and those who do it well practice it very often.

It is time for 5 miles on the Richmond International Speedway where usually 800 hp NASCAR race cars roam.

Not many athletes in the USA get to experience draft legal racing, so this is a welcome sight.

Hopefully everyone in the group is willing to do their share of the work.

And getting away from others is even more so appreciated.

This would be amazing with the seat filled out.

Aero helmets – yes. Aero TT bikes – no.

The final 1.25 mile run really hurts.

Justin Roeder took the win at the elite development race.

Runner-up Jason West congratulates the champion.

That was indeed a very hard effort.

Big smiles post race.

There was also the opportunity for kids to compete.

It is just about time to go.

Oh yes, this is perfect.

Entertainment for those who have raced and those who just came to support.
