Eurobike Demo Day 2014

The 2014 Eurobike show opened today with a demo day, but it for the first time was right next to the exhibit halls. Until recently it was held some 50km away in Argenbühl in the Allgäu, and while stunningly beautiful, to some it was just too much of a hike to get there. Judging from today it appears that both the exhibitors and trade visitors embraced the new more convenient location, but the weather was not paying along nicely.

This dealer from Leipzig Germany was sporting a very cool retro look. And was clearly prepared for the weather.

This is one way to get to a trail system – right opposite of the B halls. Plus most road cyclists left the demo day area this way too.

Closer to the demo area this ramp and stairs allowed cyclists to enter and leave the trails.

Little rain showers did not deter the testers. But clearly, this is where the close proximity to the show halls helped.

Chimpanzee is a brand from the Czech Republic and they have a variety of nutrition products.

Enthralled with an Open frame – the brain child of Andy Kessler and Gerard Vroomen.

I got to touch and feel the new SRM Power Control 8 for the first time.

Talk is cheap – action is better.

There was only one Scott Plasma 5 in the Profile Design demo area, and it was taken out a few times. Industry folks seemed to be especially curious.

I fat is so popular among bikes then why shouldn't it be hip with trikes?

Val Vanderpol and Megan Tompkins about to enjoy lunch during the Eurobike Outdoor Demo Day.

Hard at work setting up the Focus bikes.

Ironman Sweden champion Horst Reichel was busy with sponsor X-Bionic.

Bikes were coming and going in most of the booths.

This German CX magazine editor got a good ride in on the Ritchey.

Maybe the funkiest bike we saw at Demo Day – MC2 bike

At times the rain was harder.

The rain and mud also kept the wash station busy.

This Hans Grohe shower truck (not douche truck) is fantastic and that brand loves cycling and triathlon. That makes it a good reason to buy their products.

We even stumbled upon a person advertising our site at Demo Day, and he does not work for us.
