Eurobike 2014 – day 1
New bikes, helmets, tires, wheels, accessories, gadgets and tons of people filled the Eurobike halls in Friedrichshafen today and we were among them. We did not even manage to see all the halls today, but there will be 2 more days of coverage.
Quarq showed the new Shimano compatible Elsa RS power meter at Eurobike. It has a new spider and meter design to fit the new Shimano 4 spider cranks. The color scheme matches the Dura Ace one very well.
Zipp brought 2 new tires to Eurobike, the Sprint and the Course, and both are available in 23 and 25 mm widths. There is also a Sprint SL tubular, but we did not see that one.

No one left their race number glued to the seat tube, this is the De Rosa Super King SR 888 as it was designed.
The Poc Cerebel is the new TT helmet for the Scandinavian brand. It was developed in conjunction with the Garmin-Sharp team.
There was something missing on this Kuota KT5, but we just could not put our finger on it.
The Lupine Piko packs an astounding 1200 lumens in a very small package.
Giant is clearly not afraid of color, and this Propel looks very sharp.
Italian Pro Alessandro Degasperi showed us some new endurance food from Pasta Young. And it is indeed pasta – pre, during, and after varieties.
A quick downpour made folks outside likely regret their fresh air booths.

Caterham is best known for racing cars, but they have now ventured into the bicycles and e-bike world.
The stem of the Caterham accepts a Garmin directly.
A colorful dinner was served in this booth, but there were not that many guests.
The Bont Vaypor+ is based on a track shoe the brand did a long time ago.
Catlike has 2 new aero helmets. The vented one in the foreground that also has channels on the side of the visor is meant for triathletes, and the one behind for road TT cyclists.
