The Tri2Cure Challenge is on

Tri2Cure is a new challenge to get more folks involved in triathlon, and I have been called out by Helle Frederiksen to step up to the plate and do a sprint triathlon by swimming 750 meters, cycling 20 kilometers and running 5 kilometers, but all of this does not have to be done in one day. I also have to challenge 3 others to do the same or donate money to anticancerfund.org. Helle Frederiksen also nominated two other folks to do so, and her Uplace-BMC Triathlon team mates have been busy too with nominating 3 folks each.

This grassroots campaign is meant to get folks involved in a healthier lifestyle and bring awareness to the sport of triathlon. So think outside the box with your nominations.

The rules are pretty straight forward this Tri2Cure challenge.

• You have the right to nominate three non-triathletes for the challenge;
• Once you are challenged, you should do the three sports within two weeks;
• The minimal distances are: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run. But it's not a competition, you do the distances according to your own abilities.
• You prove it by sharing photos of you on your social media.
• If you do not have the time, you may donate an amount to the the anticancer fund (link above)
• Once you have completed the challenge, or donated, you may nominate three other people.

Helle Frederiksen hinted that someone who has not done a triathlon in a while can be nominated too, and that is how Bob De Wolf, Leila Thom and I got called out. Once Upon A Time is clearly not good enough.

Aussie Liz Blatchford nominated Cadel Evans, Robbie McEwen and Jackson Elliott to participate in Tri2Cure, and both Evans and McEwen have reportedly accepted the challenge.

Sofie Goos also has been busy challenging folks and Belgian media has spread her message around already.

I have accepted my challenge and just finished the swim portion.

So please go out and spread the word and let us see how far we can push this initiative. Use the hashtag #Tri2Cure
