Challenge Heilbronn check in

The field at the 2015 Challenge Heilbronn is loaded and here are some impressions of the bikes, athletes and happenings during the bike check-in. Especially interesting is Kienle's bike that appears to have SRAM's new electronic group. Surely Jan Frodeno is not the only German who gets to ride that long awaited group.

Sebastian Kienle's new custom painted Scott Plasma sits next to Maurice Clavel's Plasma and Andi Böcherer's Kuota. The cover on the aero extensions on Kienle's Plasma and the look of the derailleurs hints that this is not a standard SRAM group.

The 2014 Ironman World Champion seemed relaxed and ready. He will have many eyes on him tomorrow.

The transition area for this race is indeed in a parking garage, as indicated by the two previous pictures.

Andreas Dreitz with Erdinger mate Michael Raelert will surely be in the mix.

Andreas Dreitz has the number 1 as the defending champion here in Heilbronn.

Giulio Molinari has a distinctive bike.

German Nils Frommhold is always dangerous.

This year Frommhold will ride this bright yellow Canyon.

Most Erdinger team athletes ride Cube bikes.

Katharina Wolff is on the same club team as Sebastian Kienle.

Erdinger team mates Daniela Saemmler and Laura Philipp.

Victory or blue light (ambulance) is the slogan of Sebastian Kienle's fan club.

Maurice Clavel had a small issue with his front wheel but got it sorted quickly.

Horst Reichel (with a mountain man look) is ready to represent his new team, Sport For Good.

Natascha Badmann chats about the day to come during a pre-race event.

ITU pro Ricarda Lisk, Svenja Bazlen and Laura Philipp during media duties before the race.

Sebastian Kienle has a serious moment before race day.

Andi Böcherer has been on a roll and will try keep that momentum alive.
