A new focus on Challenge Roth
Felix Walchshöfer, his mother Alice and sister Kathrin announced a 100% focus on Challenge Roth and pass on ownership of other Challenge events to Zibi Szlufcik. Felix Walchshöfer also gave up his CEO position in the Challenge Family. That means 48 Challenge Family events around the world will now be under the sole leadership of Zibi Szlufcik.
"Together with our partner and trusted friend Zibi Szlufcik we started on this path of a worldwide series, designed as an alternative to Ironman, and found success. But our baby has now started to grow wings, and this is now the right time for our family to hand over the reigns to our friend Zibi Szlufcik. He is the best and will continue to develop the series in the same spirit," said Felix Walchshöfer.
Walchshöfer also stated that he wants to focus more on the strategic development of the Datev Challenge Roth, the largest long distance race in the world with a 30-year tradition.
"The Datev Challenge Roth will continue to be part of the Challenge Family events, and we will continue to support Zibi with advice," added Felix Walchshöfer. "But I am very much looking forward to spending more time at home and with more focus on Roth. That is where my passion is."
The 2016 edition of the Datev Challenge Roth takes place on July 17, 2016 and is sold out. But you could still join 300,000 passionate fans along the course for a very memorable experience.
