The Joker of Kevin Grogan

Kevin Grogan of Gear for Multisport in Clermont likes bikes and he recently built up a Zipp 2001 and made this early aero frame fit his personal taste and humor. Grogan got this 1992 model with its original lavender paint in December of 2015, built it up with selected components and has already done a couple smaller events on it. He refers to the bike as The Joker and who are we to disagree with him? It is a size L with a size L beam.

We have featured a bunch of Dimond bikes recently, but this Zipp 2001 is the bike that inspired that design.

Anything but Zipp wheels would have been in bad taste and thus Grogan has a Zipp 404 front with a dimpled Zipp disc in the back. But do not focus on that rear wheel when Grogan comes rolling by.

The Joker sticker at the front of the bike will grin at you when Grogan rolls by.

The front brake is a TriRig Omega X and the fork is a Ritchey Comp despite the Zipp sticker on it.

The rear brake is also a TriRig Omega X edition and the tires front and back are 22mm Continental Sprinters.

The cockpit is all Zipp with SRAM Red shifters and very nice green tape.

The rear derailleur on this Zipp 2001 is a SRAM Red and the cassette is 12-25

SRAM Red 172.5 cranks and a SRAM Force front derailleur, and the beige spot behind the crank is an original device to protect the frame from chain drop.

A green Fizik Vesta saddle rounds out the package.
