A 2016 Tritonman image gallery
The 10th edition of the Tritonman Triathlon took place over the weekend with fast elites in draft legal action, and also offered a more traditional non drafting option. Jimmy Song captured a great gallery from the activities in Mission Bay and on Fiesta Island.

The 2-day race is organized by the University of California at San Diego Triathlon Team.

The women are lined up for Saturday's draft legal 750m swim, 20k bike and 5k run.
The men's lead pack on the roads around Fiesta Island during the 20k bike portion with Eric Lagerstrom and Ben Kanute at the front.
Past Tritonman winner Ben Kanute made a late break on the bike to arrive in T2 a few seconds in front of a 6-man chase pack.
The fairly large chase pack in pursuit of the leaders.
Summer Cook led the women’s race during the opening miles after posting a top swim.
2012 Olympic bronze medalist Erin Densham and Taylor Spivey caught Cook and the trio rode most of the bike together.
Just as in the men's race, a very large chase pack.
Rounding the corner and ready pounce again.
All bunched up.
Kanute paced the front group of men until Maloy took over in the final mile to claim the win for the second straight year.
At times the race felt much like a cross country meet, with groups of athletes from the same school running in close proximity to one another.
There were a solid amount of spectators on the course.
Cook out dueled Renee Tomlin to win the women’s race but here is Nicole Truxes starting the run.
Sunday’s non-drafting men’s race was won by Texas A&M’s Michael Arishita, who earned his pro card the day before in the draft-legal race.
University of Arizona's Erica Clevenger won the women’s non-draft event. She had also raced on Saturday.
Following two hard days of racing, there was still plenty of energy left for smiles.
