The black and neon yellow QR PRsix of Joe Gambles

Aussie Joe Gambles closed out his 2018 season with a runner-up spot at Ironman 70.3 Indian Wells behind Lionel Sanders and I looked closer at his Quintana Roo PRsix Disc race bike while in Niwot, Colorado on a cold, cold day. But during the 70.3 Indian Wells race Gambles rode a very hot 2:05:30 (compared to the 2:04:24 of Lionel Sanders) and here now is what we noticed on this very fast looking superbike set up with Zipp wheels, Shimano Dura-Ace components, Continental tires, a Stages LR power meter, a Dash saddle and 51 Speedshop extensions and arm cups.

The black and neon yellow Quintana Roo PRsix ready for action, with only the water bottles missing here.

Gambles raced in Indian Wells with Zipp 858 NSW Carbon Clincher Disc-brake wheel up front with a 25 mm Continental Grand Prix 4000 S II tire. In the back the Zipp Super-9 Disc- brake Carbon Clincher wheel was also set up with a 25mm Continental Grand Prix 4000 S II tire. The cage on the down tube is an XLab Aero TT

The very minimal Dash Cycles saddle is supporting the Aussie during long training sessions and races, and it looks good. Dash Cycles is a Colorado brand.

Joe Gambles has 51 Speedshop Ultimate extensions on his QR PRsix and also has the 51 Speedshop arm cups in place. The XLab Versa 500 BTA bottle cage setup allows him to stay aero.

The view of the cockpit from above shows the XLab Versa 500 BTA setup and where Joe Gambles has his computer.

The Quintana Roo bento box on the top tube looks very fancy and expensive. According to Gambles there is an even longer version available.

Joe Gambles rides 165mm Shimano Dura-Ace cranks with a Stages LR power meter and 55-39 rings.

A Shimano Dura-Ace hydraulic disc does the stopping here, and it is one the nicest disc brake setups on the market.

In the back behind the massive QR chainstay the Shimano Dura-Ace hydraulic disc is almost out of sight.
