Florian Angert, Radka Kahlefeldt win Challenge Prague

Florian Angert of Germany and Radka Kahlefeldt of the Czech Republic took top honors at the half distance Challenge Prague.

Men

Angert combined a 3rd-best 22:36 swim, a dominating 2:08:38 bike split and 5th-fastest 1:18:27 half marathon to finish in 3:54:49 with a 2:47 margin of victory over Pieter Heemeryck of Belgium and 4:15 over 3rd place Pablo Dapena Gonzalez of Spain.

The win was Angert’s season highlight after 5th places at the Ironman 70.3 European Championships and Challenge the Championship in Samorin, Slovakia and a 2nd place at Challenge Heilbronn. In 2018, Angert won both Rügen 70.3 and Jonkoping 70.3

Women

Kahlefeldt overcame a 3:48 deficit to Lisa Norden of Sweden after the bike leg with a women’s 3rd-best 1:24:37 run split that brought her to the finish in 4:22:13 with a 1:58 margin of victory over Norden and 9:22 over 3rd place woman Eva Wutti of Austria.

Kahlefeldt’s victory added another highlight to her stellar 2019 record. This year she won 70.3s in Astana, Davao and Geelong, took 2nd at Challenge the Championship, and placed 3rd at the Ironman 70.3 European Championship, the Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship and at Challenge Melbourne.
