What We Have Noticed: Giro, Avia, Zipp…

The season is now in full swing and nothing inspires more than new gear. So we have a look at the Giro Aeon helmet, the Avia Avi-Bolt III shoes, the Zipp track jacket and the TwinSix Crank t-shirt.

What: A new lightweight helmet from Giro was introduced at the Tour of Flanders a couple days ago and by the time summer comes around you could be sporting one of these helmets that are reported to be 25 % lighter than the Ionos in one of eight different color options.

Avia Avi-Bolt III

What: The Avia Av-Bolt III is already available and features a few new updates in addition to the new colors. Tacky material on the tongue and the heel tab allows you to bolt faster out of the transition area and the new speed lacing system also helps along those lines.

Zipp track jacket

What: With the Zipp track jacket by Castelli you can look stylish when you are not on your bike and declare to the world which brand of Speed you prefer. Black, white and silver color scheme goes with virtually everything, not that this has stopped others before. When in doubt about sizing go up one as the jacket is cut quite lean.

TwinSix Crank

What: The TwinSix Crank design has been this editor’s favorite t-shirt but after endless washes the shirt had to endure the same fate as Seinfeld’s Golden Boy. The Crank shirt was not available for quite a while but is now back for 2011 with vengeance.
