Billard, Vodickova in Klagenfurt
French Pro Bertrand Billard beat Stuart Hayes and Josh Amberger to the title of the inaugural 5150 Klagenfurt in Austria. Radka Vodickova held off Nikki Butterfield and a slightly less crowded women's field for the win.
Stuart Hayes was first out of the water at the Strandbad Loretto in 17:21 with Josh Amberger and Igor Sysoev hot on his heels.
Bertrand Billard though jumped into the lead on the bike and quickly distanced all other competitors. Hayes and Amberger were next into transition in pursuit of the fast leader.
But there the French Pro also had a nice run in his repertoire and took the win in 1:53:15. Hayes and Amberger took the other podium spots in 1:54:41 and 1:56:31 respectively.
Radka Vodickova was first out of the water for the women and held on to that lead on the bike too.
From there she ran to the title in 2:12:01 with Nikki Butterfield in second place and Renate Forstner in third position.
