Kemper, Widney win Monroe WA
Hunter Kemper of Colorado Springs won by a half a mile and Chantell Widney of Canada won by 14 seconds to take the men’s and women’s titles at the second round of the USA Triathlon Elite Series Saturday in Monroe, Washington.
Kemper finished the dead flat Olympic distance course in 1:49:51 with a 2 minutes, 15 seconds margin of victory over runner-up Ben Collins of Seattle, Washington and 2 minutes, 30 seconds over third-place Andrew Russell of Canada.
Widney finished in 2:01:35 with a 14 seconds margin of victory over runner-up Kaitlin Shiver of Gainesville, Florida and 25 seconds better than third-place finisher Annie Warner of nearby Nine Mile Falls, Washington.
