Brownlee, Norden take ITU Sprint World Championships

Jonathan Brownlee (GBR) stepped up to the plate and won his first world championship title at the inaugural ITU Sprint World Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland. Lisa Norden (SWE) got away from Emma Moffatt (AUS) to take the women’s Sprint crown.

Findlay does it again Kitzbühel

Paula Findlay followed up her win in London with another victory at the ITU Dextro Energy World Championship Series triathlon in Kitzbühel, Austria and thus became the first woman in 2010 to take two wins in the series.

Raelert, Van Vlerken in Wiesbaden

70.3 World Champion Michael Raelert added the European title to his resume with a record breaking win at the 2010 Ironman 70.3 Germany. Yvonne Van Vlerken also grabbed a new course record as she defended her title, but Desiree Ficker was only 22 seconds behind.

Hayes superb in Kitzbühel

Stuart Hayes took his best win to date at the ITU Dextro Energy World Championship Series triathlon in Kitzbühel, Austria. After getting in a break of five on the bike, Hayes ran away from the other four and held off all other challengers.

A few words with Matt Chrabot

A win at Miami International and the runner-up spot at Lifetime Fitness Triathlon were quite nice, but qualifying for the 2012 Olympics in London is on the mind of Matt Chrabot and thus the focus on ITU Dextro Energy WCS events.

Boulder 70.3 wins for Potts, Dibens

After his recent win at Ironman Coeur D’Alene Andy Potts showed that he can still go fast at half that distance with an impressive win at Boulder 70.3. Julie Dibens grabbed the win in the women’s race after waiting several minutes before the finish line to actually cross.

Colucci, Sapunova in Hungary

Reinaldo Colucci won the ITU World Cup in Tiszaujvaros, Hungary and with it earned his first World Cup title. For women’s winner Yuliya Sapunova this victory was also her first World Cup success.
