A great run helped American Jarrod Shoemaker to win the 2009 Dextro Energy ITU Triathlon event in Hamburg, Germany. Aussie Brad Kahlefeldt made a valiant effort to reel in Shoemaker but had to settle for the runner-up spot.

Twelsiek, Macel take Lake Placid

Maik Twelsiek won the Ford Ironman Lake Placid thanks to a dominating performance on the bike. Tereza Macel started with a great swim, put up a monster bike performance and easily cruised to the women’s title.

Aussie Emma Moffatt stormed to her third successive win in the Dextro Energy ITU Triathlon World Championship Series with a powerful performance on the wet roads of Hamburg, Germany.

The new Jessi Stensland

It had been quiet around Jessi Stensland for a while now, and a new Jessi Stensland has appeared. The new Jessi had a few words with slowtwitch to talk about mountain biking, rock climbing, XTERRA and the foundation she is involved in.

Lebrun, Vanlandingham win again

Nico Lebrun captured the XTERRA Mountain Cup in Avon, Colorado today and has now moved into second place in the Cup Series standings. Shonny Vanlandingham won the women’s race and with it her second title this season.

Schildknecht, Matter at home

Ronnie Schildknecht and Sybille Matter used home court advantage to win the 2009 Ironman Switzerland. The second place finishers in both the men’s and the women’s event also hail from Switzerland.
