Kate Major finished 3rd at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii in 2004, 2005 and 2007, and looks forward to step up a couple places at the 30th anniversary race in 2008. But she is currently focusing on Panthers Ironman Australia.

Massimo Cigana recently burst onto the triathlon scene with a win at Laguna Phuket, but Massimo is no stranger to racing at the professional level. He raced on the Mercatone Uno team with Marco Pantani, but a terrible crash almost ended his life.
Pro Triathlete and Slowtwitcher Jonathan Caron has been selected to participate in the upcoming season of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”. While the exact pairing is not set yet, rumor is that he will be partnering with Sheryl Crow.
Javier Gomez won the 2008 Mooloolaba ITU World Cup and relegated last year’s winner Brad Kahlefeldt to second place. In the women’s race Emma Snowsill edged out Vanessa Fernandes for the title.
70.3 World Champion Andy Potts held off hard charging Craig Alexander by 3 seconds to win the 2008 California 70.3 triathlon. In the women’s race, Erika Csomor had a great bike split to set up her victory.
Mitchell Anderson is known to be among the fastest cyclists in the sport of triathlon and he has shown on several occasions that he can deliver all 3 goods. He finally is focusing on the sport of triathlon full time and that may worry some of his competitors.
Many people remember Aussie Chris Legh from his heart breaking collapse in the finish line chute at the 1997 Ironman Hawaii. We wanted to know what he is up to these days in terms of racing, training, family and interests.
Tom Knoll was one of the 12 amazing folks who started and finished the 1978 Ironman Hawaii. Tom came from a running background and finished 6th on that day. He is currently running across the United States in an event that benefits 3 charities.

Erik Vendt already won 2 swimming silver medals in the previous 2 Olympic games and is currently getting ready to qualify for Beijing. Just recently he swam 14:47:59 in the 1500 m freestyle and appears to be in prime shape. He talked to Slowtwitch.
