The power of Sam Gyde

Belgian age grouper Sam Gyde won the M35-39 category in 8:45 and finished 24th overall with a super fast 4:29:47 age split. Not many Pro men rode faster than that on this day. After a 1:08:40 opening swim he had his work cut out, and so that bike split that was a few seconds quicker than Faris Al-Sultan helped him to get back to the top. But he had not overcooked himself and finished strong with a 3:00:30 marathon. We interviewed him 2 years ago after he won his age group then in 8:50. But here now is a look at his power numbers from the 2013 Kona event..

To get more details we split the chart in half and here is the first section of his power file from T1 up to Hawi.

The second part shows the data of Sam Gyde racing back from Hawi to T2.

The entire bike workout in one image.

As we said earlier, Sam Gyde had a fine 3:00:30 run to finish his day.

Sam Gyde had just sent us the raw SRM file, so this editor uploaded it to his TrainingPeaks account to have a display of the file. So the bonus for this editor is a new power threshold. 🙂
