Yvonne van Vlerken’s Simplon

The flying Dutch woman won the Lanzarote International Duathlon yesterday aboard her Enve and SRAM equipped Austrian brand Simplon Nexio, and we took a closer look at this race ready road bike. Rules at the race required starters to compete on road bikes, and drafting was legal too. Rain and wind added to the fun for all, and a bit of dirt to that Simplon Nexio.

Right after the podium ceremony the Simplon Nexio of Yvonne van Vlerken found a fine resting place.

The signs of the wet race are still fresh on this Austrian steed.

The Garmin was already switched off and we could not see how fast she rode during the 20km bike segment.

The Enve SES 3/4 front wheel was laced with a 23mm Continental Grand Prix 4000S tire.

The back Enve SES 3/4 wheel also features a Continental Grand Prix 4000S.

Apparently Simplon offers two different posts for this Nexio bike.

On this road bike Yvonne rides SRAM Red 172.5 cranks, but on her TT bike she is on 170 ones.

Yes, SRAM Red throughout on this race winning bike.
