2012 CapTex Triathlon

Throw a triathlon in a city that has statues honoring Stevie Ray Vaughan, Willie Nelson and Earl Campbell, is the place Lance Armstrong calls home and runs a bike shop, has raised Tex-Mex cuisine to an art, and has had two Governors who are dedicated runners and you just might breeze through the first 22 years.

This year's Capitol of Texas Triathlon – CapTex for short — offered an elite field that contained five Olympians, an age group contest that drew nearly 3,000 to Lady Bird Lake and nearby environs, and an inspiring and exciting cast competing in the USA Triathlon Paratriathlon Nationals.

Have it on the traditional Memorial Day Monday, scare up mild temps and mostly sunny skies and you have a formula for fun.
