2015 Sea Otter Classic day 3

The Sea Otter Classic goes on until Sunday but we end our daily coverage today. Competitions, bikes, gear and gadgets is what we noticed today.

The pro men MTB cross country field was stacked and packed and the start was full throttle.

The leading group of 10 was whittled down to 3 during the last few miles and Nino Schurter managed to get to the line first. He thus won both races he started at the Sea Otter Classic. We will feature his race winning bike in a separate gallery.

Here is the race winning Orbea Alma of 2014 World Champion Catharine Pendrel of Team Luna Chix. The Canadian was the favorite at the Sea Otter Classic and served that role well.

Happy smiles after the hard cross country race.

4iiii showed their $399 power meter at Sea Otter and this is on one their employee bikes. They assured me that the paint removal on the crank of customer bikes is done much more delicately, and thus not really visible.

Fellow Canadians velofix are looking to bring their bike repair on wheels franchises to the USA. The one seen here will be in the USA and serve as a promotional vehicle.

Kask brought the Bambino Pro to Sea Otter. It has an improved magnetic shield attachment, a much nicer retention system, and is now available in 2 sizes.

Evoc is a German brand and they make a variety of bags including this snazzy Travel Bag Pro. Weighing in at around 18 pounds it has several nice features.

Picky Bars attended Sea Otter Classic for the first time, and Matt Briggs who works in Finance impressed onlookers with his product knowledge and very nice attitude.

Lezyne is known for nicely designed products and this Super GPS display is no exception. It connects to power meters via Ant+ or Bluetooth and weighs 76 grams and measures 30.4mm x 37.8mm. But won't be available until July and the MSRP is $200.

The tiny Mini GPS is a nice bike computer and weighs a scant 30 grams. It should be available soon, but I wished they used the mount standard of Garmin.

The Bont VayporS is the top of the line road shoe for the Aussie brand and now features a double Boa closure system.

Unless you are driving a Fiat 500 or a MINI Cooper, this Tepui roof tent seems to be a great option for various camping trips or racing at Wildflower. The bags dangling below are another offering of the California brand.

Female pro mountain bikers have a very attentive audience of young female cyclists in front of them inside the Specialized booth.

A bit further away even younger cycling fans were able to enjoy a late Easter egg hunt.

Richard Fries announces athletes in the cyclcross as they come over the flyover, and a bit further up the hill athletes got ready for the dual slalom.

A lot of air in the dual slalom usually means that the competitor crashed or that the one flying crashed earlier and can now let it hang out.

Oh yes, that kind of action gets the crowd very much excited.

David Molony is a Nor Cal Rep for Endura and this Scottish apparel brand had the cleverest Sea Otter themed employee t-shirts. Nice work.
