A cool cycling kit to support the well liked Tim Don
In a recent interview with Tim Don we learned that he is finally free from that Halo, but he still has a long way to go and it has been and still is an expensive journey. Many folks have suggested to set up a Go-Fund Me page or similar site to help the Don family with medical expenses, but the Dons felt uncomfortable going that route. But the bills keep coming and coming and Tim Don still has a lot of rehab ahead of him before he can compete again and return to making money.
The Scottish clothing brand Endura also offered to help out by creating and selling a limited-edition cycling kit, and the Dons decided to accept that kind offer. Endura designers thus sat down and created a very cool cycling kit, and all of the proceeds from that initiative are scheduled to go back to Tim to help with the medical expenses. The design is simple and attractive and features the GB colors on a blue background, his IRONMAN World Record time of 7:40:23 and The Don nickname as the name badge.
"We're delighted to be able to support Tim by donating all profits from sales of our special edition 'TD' kit, designed and handmade by our custom division in Scotland. By using our flagship Pro SL Custom jersey and bib shorts, the same we supply to Movistar Team and Cervélo Bigla, we hope to celebrate the commitment Tim has shown to his sport,” said Jim McFarlane Endura's Founder and Managing Director.
"Tim's determination to return to competition is one of the many qualities that set him apart, even from competitors in a sport as grueling as long-distance triathlon. A broken neck would convince many professional athletes to call it a day, but for Tim, even severe injury is fuel to his competitive fire," added McFarlane.
The bib shorts are also very attractive and can be seen up close on the Endura website. There is also more information about this effort by Endura to support Tim Don.
