Alexander and Lester in Huskisson

Craig Alexander has won the Aussie Long Course championships for the 6th time now. The race wasn't a picnic though for Alexander as he had to deal with a strong field and a very motivated and fast Pete Jacobs. The women's title in Huskisson, Australia went to Carrie Lester who held off a hard charging Pip Taylor.

"My form is good for this time of year and I am very happy with 2 from 2 in Geelong and now Huskisson," said Alexander after the race. "It was great to do a race where no plane travel or passports were involved and also satisfying to race in front of a home crowd as the reigning Ironman World Champion."

Lester, the runner-up in Geelong, was equally happy with her race here. "It was the perfect race day. The weather was ideal & the course is my favourite by far. I think I'm in good form at the moment – I felt really strong on the bike & run, and had plenty left in the tank which is nice to know for upcoming races. I wanted to win, so I am really happy I came away with the result I wanted. The whole weekend was amazing."
