Eurobike 2011 – Day 1

The 2011 Eurobike show opened its doors inside the convention center in Friedrichshafen today and all the halls were packed with visitors and an interesting selection of products. The show actually seems to be bursting at the seams and growth eventually will stop because there isn't anymore space to grow.

Today we noticed shoes from Pearl Izumi, Bont, Mavic and Lake, bikes from BMC, Ceepo and Specialized, plus other goods from 3T, Lightweight, Zipp, Cerevellum, Mavic, TorHans, Tange, Carrera, Profile Design and Deda. We also bumped into Pros Andreas Raelert and Faris Al Sultan.

The Specialized Shiv of Tony Martin looks fast standing still in the the Shimano booth.

The fresh new color for Pear Izumi seems to be orange.

The integrated CycleOps computer into the 3T IntegraLTD stem looks very clean.

Lightweight presented a new more aerodynamically focused wheel option, but this front wheel is still in the prototype stage.

The rim shape and flange is quite a bit more meaty than those of other Lightweight rims.

Zipp's Service Course SL stem, bar and post will be available in a Beyond Black finish.

The Cerevellum Hindsight 35 computer with rearview camera and much more is finally available as a real product for $299.

The Cerevellum also functions as a tail-light.

Mavic's top of the line road shoes get carbon fiber treatment.

The new BMC Timemachine TM01 is quite impressive in person and we'll have a special feature about it up today.

Faris Al Sultan was signing autographs in the Storck booth today and he is always super friendly and personal.

We stumbled upon this custom TorHans bottle on the Felt DA here in Germany and we think this isn't just a one-off.

Joe Tanaka is the man behind the Ceepo brand and he recently qualified for Kona. Word has it that he'll be on a Katana on the Big Island.

Lake's new TX312 triathlon shoe features a BOA heel closure system and retails for $329.99.

Deda's Bandito aerobar comes in black or white and in three different sizes. Weight is supposed to be in the 540 gram range.

Andreas Raelert had a busy time with various sponsors but always had time a smile for fans and pesky media folks.

Bont revamped the Sub8 shoe for 2012.

Frameless glasses like these Carrera R&B X-Lite are great for a TT position on the bike and this specific model comes in quite a few different color options.

The Sync Hydration System from Profile Design is new for 2012 and can be adjusted quite a bit.

Once the back pad with the velcro is removed the bottle holder can be moved to any position on the Sync belt.
