Eurobike 2011 – Day 3

The official last day for Eurobike is the consumer day on Saturday but we are concluding our coverage of this 2011 cycling industry trade show today with another gallery of products and people we came across in Friedrichshafen.

We checked out the Garmin Vector and the Polar Keo Power, looked closer at bikes from Braid, Parlee, DeRosa, Look, Argon18, Steinbach and Paduano, and have a few more other items to share.

The Garmin Vector system is quite light and looks very well thought out.

Clark Foy showed us all kinds of details of the Garmin Vector and all the brains of the system are really inside the spindle. Once connected to the crank arm the system is quite solid.

The Parlee Prius road bike and its mind powered shifting system won an award at Eurobike.

Yes, that is a space for your smart phone.

We did not ask if these helmets were CPSC certified.

This Braid bike is quite stunning and features a carbon braided frame, thus the name of course.

No chainstay on one side and no seatstay on the other on the Braid.

Casco has been around for quite a while and shouldn't be confused with Kask.

These are speed bumps of sorts.

Francesco Paduano with his cool titanium chopper. This small builder crafts about 500 frames a year and was one of several Italian titanium artisans at Eurobike.

The Argon18 E-118 is quite a attention getter.

These integrated TRP brakes seem to be everywhere now.

This Steinbach electric bike weighs under 10kg.

DeRosa isn't only about sleek carbon racing bikes.

This Look MTB looks very sharp and the stem assembly oh so familiar.

We bumped into German Pro Uwe Widmann in the Look booth. Like a true Pro he was concerned that this show bike wasn't sponsor correct but we assured him it was fine for our purposes.

The Canyon VCLS Flat Spring post offers about 20mm of travel.

The paralellogramm seat clamp ensures the saddle stays level.

The Look Keo Power will hit stores in early October according to Joona Laukka of Ploar.

The unit shows in percentages and wattage how much power each leg gives. But of course the total power output is shown in watts.
