Foster, Tisseyre top Nautica Malibu

Californian Chris Foster led virtually wire to wire and Canadian Magali Tisseyre quickly overcame Brianna Blanchard’s race best swim to take dominating victories in the elite category at the Nautica Malibu Triathlon Saturday.

Foster, a 28-year-old pro from Redondo Beach, California combined race-best efforts in all three disciplines to finish in 1:50:17 and carve out a 12-minutes, 16-seconds margin of victory over Tim Hola of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Craig Foos of New York City placed 3rd, 2 minutes, 38 seconds back of Hola.

Foster posted a 20:10 swim, one second back of Hola, then gained 8:26 with a 56:06 bike and 3:33 with a 31:41 run.

Tisseyre, better known for her Ironman 70.3 prowess, trailed Blanchard’s race-best 20:13 swim by 1:24, then gained 6:40 with a 1:04:31 bike and added another 6:33 with a 36:41 run to hit the line in 2:05:45 with an 11:50 margin of victory over Blanchard.
