Haskins, Dye win St. Anthony’s
U.S. stars Sarah Haskins and Cameron Dye won the non-drafting Olympic distance St. Anthony’s Triathlon.
Haskins combined a women's best 19:22 swim, women’s 3rd-fastest 1:00:24 bike split and women’s-best 36:48 run to finish in 1:58:31 with a 23 seconds margin of victory over Alicia Kaye and 3:40 over 3rd-place finisher Lauren Goss.
Three-time Ironman World Champion and 2007 Ironman 70.3 World Champion
Mirinda Carfrae of Australia took 4th in a short course excursion that included a typically slow swim, women's 3rd-best 1:01:45 bike split and women's 2nd-fastest 36:58 run.
The win was Haskins’ 6th at St. St. Anthony’s and adds to an excellent 2016 season that includes wins at Panama 70.3 and Texas 70.3 and runner-up finishes at the Clermont draft legal sprint and San Juan 70.3.
Dye won his 3rd St. Anthony’s Triathlon with a 2nd-best 18:21 swim, a by-far race-best 52:28 bike split and a 9th-best 34:25 run to finish in 1:46:46 with a 39 seconds margin on runner-up Ivan Tutukin of Russia and 1:28 on 3rd-place finisher Rodolphe Von Berg of the U.S.
Ironman World Championship 2015 3rd place finisher Tim O’Donnell took 4th just 4 seconds behind Von Berg and Mark Bowstead of New Zealand was 5th, 43 seconds behind O’Donnell.
