The Ironman 70.3 European Championships in Wiesbaden, Germany is a very popular event and Belgian Bart Aernouts and Swiss Daniela Ryf managed to snag the titles with supreme efforts. We now share images from the racing action today thanks to Karsten Täschner.
Lined up and ready to go.
Earlier in the morning Bart Aernouts calmly got his race bike ready.
But once the racing started he was all business and stormed away on the bike.
The bike course is not an easy one as the Robbo man can likely attest.
Daniela Ryf was on fire and pulled out a huge advantage over all competitors.
Camilla Pedersen was near the front but could not go the pace of Ryf.
Aernouts started the run with a solid lead and easily ran to the win and the European title.
Swiss team mate Ronnie Schildknecht was not having the day he expected.

Peter Robertson was supper thrilled with his race.
The talented young Maurice Clavel is someone to watch for sure. He finished third.
Daniela Ryf had a huge lead over the competition and easily won this race and thus defended the European title.
Leanda Cave looked well, but had no answer for Ryf.
Laura Philipp finished 3rd in Wiesbaden and she certainly earned it.
