Pallant Outruns Spirig; Mennesson edges Mignon at Mallorca 70.3.
Emma Pallant-Browne of Great Britain engaged in a see-saw duel with 2012 Olympic champion Nicola Spirig of Switzerland until the run – when Pallant jetted away on the wings of her women’s-fastest 1:17:18 half marathon. After a sixth-best 25:40 swim, a second-fastest 2:38:11 bike split and a dominant run, Pallant finished in 4:25:36 with a 2:13 margin over Spirig and 5:18 over third-place Chelsea Sodaro.

Gradually, Spirig extended her lead to 1:54 on Pallant, 3:02 Anne Reischmann of Germany and 3:04 on Chelsea Sodaro.
After 6 kilometers, Spirig saw Pallant zoom past. After a 1:17:18 half marathon, Pallant could celebrate her victory with a 2:13 margin over Spirig and 5:18 over third-place finisher Sodaro.
Just a week after her victory at Challenge Riccione, Pallant added another palmares to her richly endowed career highlights that include two International Duathlon world titles and several Ironman 70.3- and middle-distance Challenge events.
