Rappstar’s 4th Annual World Bicycle Relief Charity Challenge: Wrap Up

Hi Everyone,

So far, we’ve raised (drum roll, please)… just over forty-one thousand dollars. That means we’ve already beaten last year’s total, and are less than $10k away from our goal of $50,250, or 375 WBR bikes. Huge thanks to everyone who has donated so far, and to the wonderful folks and companies who have offered such great prizes.

Originally, we wanted to run the fundraiser between my races at the Leadman 250 Epic in Bend, and the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii. Hawaii has come and gone, and we decided that, because we’re so close to the goal, we’ll extend the challenge.

So, the donation window officially closes on Sunday, November 4, at midnight (Pacific time). Tell all your friends!

Remember, you can donate ANY amount, but ONLY donations of $134 or more (the cost of one bicycle) will make you eligible for prizes. For every multiple of $134 that you donate, you get another entry. $268 earns you double eligibility, $402 earns triple, $536 quadruple, etc.

You can enter online at our donation page:

http://ironmanfoundation.org/rappstarcharitychallenge

Or via snail-mail at the following address:

World Bicycle Relief
Attn: Development
1333 N. Kingsbury Street
4th Floor
Chicago, IL 60642

The challenge awards will be done electronically, on a roll-down system. So, the first person will get first pick of awards, second place gets second choice, etc. Award drawing tickets will be assigned automatically from the donations, so please make sure to give us an email or phone number (or both) where we can reach you.

Finally, we are lucky enough to have a few last-minute prize offerings to share. The previous complete list can be found at THIS LINK. We’ll fill in the final goodies below, along with a short video I produced to talk about our progress so far.

Thanks for your support!

World Bicycle Relief: Two (separate prizes) Zipp double wheel bags. (MSRP $140/ea, $280 total)

World Bicycle Relief was kind enough to donate two brand new Zipp dual wheel bags. They were extras from their inventory, so the ever-kind folks at WBR simply decided to donate them to the cause! These bags are nicely padded and do a great job of protecting your wheels for storage or travel.

Chrissie Wellington: Autographed Torhans t-shirt. (MSRP $Priceless)

Chrissie Wellington already made a fantastic donation (of 100 copies of her book, A Life Without Limits). While in Kona this year, she ran in to the WBR folks, and struck up a conversation. She happened to have a Torhans (small women’s) t-shirt handy, so she signed it and donated it to the auction to help spur excitement for the final push to $50k. Thanks Chrissie!
