We Noticed: Coke, cookies, MC2
This we noticed the fancy Coke themed Specialized helmet of Tim Don, Martindale Cycling Components race wheels, colorful DeFeet Sako socks, a Slowtwitch community TriathlonLive discount just in time for the start of the WTS season in Abu Dhabi, and very lovely swim team themed cookies.
Tim Don's new race lid
Tim Don is now part of the Coca Cola sponsored Bravo Team, but he retained many of his sponsors and that includes Specialized. While at the Santos race in Brazil the well liked and personable Brit showed off his fancy new Coca Cola themed S-Works aero helmet. I was impressed, intrigued and all of a sudden very thirsty for a Coke.

Martindale Cycling Components 5/9 wheels
Philip Martindale is the man behind Martindale Cycling Components and this East Coast based brand has a large variety of wheels in the product line at reasonable prices. The Martindale 5/9 carbon clincher wheel set caught my eye first and it is available either with White Industries T11 hubs or a Powertap G3 ones. Either way, they are laced with Sapim CX Ray bladed spokes and Sapim alloy nipples. Rim width on this wheels are 24mm, with 20 spokes up front and 24 in the rear. You can look closer at them this weekend at the North American Hand Built Show in Louisville, KY.
MSRP: $1549 White Industries / $1949 Powertap
DeFeet Sako socks
DeFeet has been in the cycling sock business for a very long time now and they have a very large selection to choose from. There is currently a trend for folks to have colorful dress socks, and it certainly works very well in cycling too. One section of socks in the DeFeet product line is inspired and influenced by South African cyclist Sean Sakinofsky who sells socks in his part of the world via sako7socks.co.za and these Carolina Blues ones featured here are among those. Why I would be drawn to Carolina Blues is beyond me, but there is much more on offering on both the DeFeet website and the Sako7Socks one. You know that you like to wear certain kits more regularly, and with colorful socks you can change it up.

Suzy Degazon cookies
Passion shows itself in various ways and sometimes it actually comes in the form of cookies. Suzy Degazon made these very cute swim team red and white cookies for the Red and White Meet for the Covina High School swim meet. Of course the swimmers had to wait until the meet was over, but hey that likely made them swim faster.
