What We Have Noticed: Foundations
This a very special edition of What We Have Noticed with the focus on foundations. Some of these you might be familiar with, while others will most likely be completely new to you. So open your mind, your heart and your wallet.
The Adam Little Foundation
What: Adam Little was killed by a distracted driver in March of 2010 and sadly tragic deaths like one this occur way to often. So make yourself as visible as possible and obey all the rules of the road. You can also support The Adam Little Foundation.

charity : water
What: charity : water is a non-profit organization with the goal to bring clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. As cyclists we devour water and other beverages by the gallon and while we here and there might briefly run out of water, we never really have to worry about being really thirsty. So let us help those who are quite a bit less fortunate than we are.

Bikes Belong
What: The name of this foundation is straight forward – Bikes Belong. We may sometimes think and act as if all bicycles belonged, but the reality is sadly not so simple. Quite a few folks would be happy if there were no bicycles on the roads at all, and we have to make sure that we do not get pushed out. Part of that is riding responsibly and considerate, the other is to support organizations like Bikes Belong.

Share Your Soles
What: Between cycling shoes and running shoes, most of us could fill up a whole closet, and that does not even take into account our non athletic footwear. But around the world quite a few people do not own any shoes or maybe only one pair of very worn out ones. Instead of pitching our few 100 mile logged running shoes into the trash we could donate them to Share Your Soles, and that is really true for other shoes we no longer find use for.

Davis Phinney Foundation
What: For vey active and outdoorsy people the thought to be possibly touched by Parkinson's Disease is an especially scary concept, but for 1993 US Pro Champion Davis Phinney this is a reality every day. His Davis Phinney Foundation has invested more than $3.8 million in initiatives to date and you could make sure even more folks get inspired and assistance.
