What We Have Noticed: Timo Bracht …
This week we noticed a stunning Timo Bracht bike ride, the world's fastest jogger, the Skora Base shoes, the FlipLoc Aero Garmin mount, the Kona Epic Camp and Kennedy Donnelly.
Timo Bracht training
What: When we hear the word Switzerland most of us think of cowbells, chocolate and yodeling, but not so Timo Bracht. He is currently riding a few amazing mountain passes in Switzerland and he posted the picture below on his Facebook page as he crested the Grimselpass. But that photo was taken after he had gone over the Sustenpass earlier that day, and before he was making his way over the Nufenen and Gotthardpass – on his Giant Trinity Advanced SL tri bike of course. Now that is training in earnest and with a stunning view. Plus after a ride like this he certainly deserves some chocolate.

phil&teds sub 4 stroller
What: When your website is worldsfastestjogger.com you better have some very badass stroller to show, and it certainly looks like phil&teds are delivering along those lines. Once the storm or sun cover are mounted to the sub 4, it looks super sleek and aero. We have not had our hands on that jogger yet, so we can’t officially judge if it is indeed the world’s fastest jogger.
MSRP: $899

Skora Base running shoes
What: Skora is a brand that also focuses on the minimal running concept and they refer to it as "RunReal." Although on their site they state that they don’t cling on to a doctrine, new or old. Be it as it may, the Skora Base is minimal indeed and the zero-drop feature means that there is no difference in midsole or outsole height from heel to toe. And they certainly look unique.
Weight: 7.8oz / 225 grams

FlipLoc Aero
What: The FlipLoc Aero is a new mount for the Garmin 500/200 and is made from nylon by crafty engineer Erik Ostergaard. It is double-sided and reversible and thus gives you quite a few different mounting options. This unit fits all 22.2mm diameter aero bars, but you might have to be patient to get your hands on one. Word has it that they are very popular already. There is also a 31.8mm standard road bar version.
Weight: 13 grams
MSRP: $35

Kona Epic Camp 2013
What: If you want to qualify for Kona, the Epic Camp Kona will at least give you a good taste what it is like to race there. The crew around coach John Newsom continues in the foot steps of Gordo Byrn and Scott Molina and offers you a 9-day training camp on the big island that culminates in the Kona 70.3 on Sunday, June 1st. Half the time is spent on Alii Drive at the Kailua Kona resort and the other half at the very nice Mauna Lani resort, but this ain’t a vacation, be ready for some serious suffering.
Date: May 25 – June 2, 2013

The Kennedy Donnelly ride
What: 17-year old Kennedy Donnelly rode 3,800 miles across the country to support Pencils of Promise and her Impossible Challenge to build a school. Not a big deal to ride across the USA you might say, but it is quite an amazing effort when you go in it with virtually no cycling background. Kudos to Kennedy for this great selfless effort, and you can still support her Pedaling for Pencils cause.
