What We Have Noticed: TYR, Strava, TorHans …

This week we noticed the Orion goggles from TYR, the Strava training log, the TorHans Aero-20 hydration system, the Iron War book by Matt Fitzgerald and the Fly Onesies by TwinSix.

TYR Orion goggles

What: TYR’s Orion goggles are designed for triathletes and open water swimmers. They sit on the outside of the eye socket and thus accidental or intentional bumps aren’t quite as painful and the peripheral clarity is quite nice.

Strava

What: Strava works on a very simple principle "Grab a GPS device, Go Out and Ride, Sync & See Your Rides on Strava." You can basically use a Garmin, iPhone 3GS/4 or Android and you are pretty much set to go. Once signed up Strava will then automatically log and organize your training data.

TorHans Aero-20 bottle

What: The TorHans bottles have tested quite well in the wind tunnel and the Aero-20 is the newest bottle from that brand. Chrissie Wellington recently used one on her record-breaking ride at the 2011 Challenge Roth and we think we’ll see more triathletes using either the Aero-30 or the Aero-20 featured here.

Iron War

What: Dave Scott and Mark Allen had one of the greatest battles in sport history during their epic 1989 Ironman Hawaii matchup. Matt Fitzgerald captures the spirit of that duel in “Iron War – The Greatest Race Ever Run,” and that is really a book that should be on your bookshelf if you have even the slightest interest in the sport of triathlon. But it also is a great read for anyone looking for inspiration in general.
