by Dan Empfield, July 18, 2016The hubbub around Roka’s new Maverick X reminds me of TYR’s ginned-up TYR’s Freak of Nature 4 years ago. Does the Maverick X deserve the hype?
The entire wetsuit world sits on one side. De Soto sits on the other side. Can De Soto be right? Here’s our analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of 2-piece wetsuits.
These suits, much to my amazement, work! This is the third in my series of tests on speedsuits for no-wetsuit swims. This SpeedZoot compares very favorably to those made by TYR.

This TYR Hurricane 5 has pluses and minuses, and usually the pluses cause the minuses. I swam in this suit, juxtaposing it with a De Soto T1 Concept 5. Here are the results.
Sit back in your easy chair and curl up with The Tale of Two Torsos, featuring slices and grafts down the chest, and the question of whether or not to sever arms. Sounds like Poe short story.
