A QR development bike

The folks at Quintana Roo appeared to hide the development bike they brought to the Ironman World Championships in Kona, but we noticed this unlabeled distinctive different looking bike and after some back and forth we managed to pull it away for a few minutes.

At first glance the bike is quite a departure from the current CD01 or Illicito, but there are also some connections.

The front end is more massive and now features a bayonet style fork.

The stem that is holding up the Profile Design cockpit is clearly not a finished product.

The view from above.

The seat cluster area is also distinctively different.

The holes in the seatpost are meant for XLab mounts.

A closer look at the new fork.

The massive non drive chainstay is also featured on the Illicito, but here it has a seatstay to meet it.

The direct mount Shimano Dura-Ace brakes are below the chainstays.

There is also a direct mount Dura-Ace brake up front.

The Shift technology that moves the dirty air has been applied here.
