Kona 2023 Bikes: Jocelyn McCauley’s Ventum One
Jocelyn McCauley is one of the strongest bikers in the field for tomorrow's IRONMAN World Championship. McCauley will pilot a very custom Ventum One on course. Here's a deeper look at the bike and some of the gear choices made.
At first glance, this bike looks like a relatively stock One, until you start peeling back some of the specific gear choices.
Let's start with the cockpit, and the unique Profile Design extensions here.
Those extensions also feature an X-Lab Gorilla cage, mounted below the bar.
Like Anne Haug, McCauley's riding a Rotor ALDHU InSpider powermeter crank with an aero chainring. Unlike Haug, this one's direct from Rotor, with a beefy 56 tooth chainring.
It's 155mm cranks for McCauley.
McCauley opts for Wahoo Speedplay pedals.
The JCOB saddle has a Gorilla XT cage mounted behind it. Between the frame reservoir and the two external bottles, McCauley should be well hydrated come midday Saturday.
It's an Ultegra Di2 drivetrain for McCauley, which will spin HED's Jet180 wheel. Those wheels are wrapped in Continental GP5000's.
A closer look at the electronic RD on board.
